DAILY BLOG

What can you reflect on after a long day? Perhaps, it is just that you are tired and how can you do things at your pace tomorrow. Or perhaps, it maybe you would like to set regular timers throughout the day to pause and breath - in nature or alone to clear and calm your mind. Or maybe you just feel your energy depleting at a certain point in the day and that’s the point where you want to schedule in time away from the noise.

Time for nothing, before the evening sets in. Or maybe you felt out of sync today and are reflecting and unpacking what is going on for you right now. Perhaps, you are under the weather, need an early night, forgot to hydrate or eat regular, healthy meals.

Whatever your reflection - remember we are all in this together - getting it right - making mistakes - but, the power of reflection enables us to progress, step by step.

Overthinking

As an Empath who is sensitive to other people and the world. As a mentally and emotionally intelligent human being you are going to overthink. Let's play that to our advantage by always having boundaries in place for the dark, harmful things that are out there. Absorbing the horrors of the world causes distress. But, acknowledging these with our boundaries in place and taking action, whether that is a monthly donation to a charity of your choice or actively listening to someone who needs your support. You can help the world, without overthinking and by protecting yourself. It takes practice. It takes creating new patterns of thinking. But, it is absolutely necessary to hold onto peace and your values, simultaneously.

Emotions & Crashing

Friday night is often sold to us as a celebration for the end of the week. But, for a lot of us it can be a time of crashing energy and feeling out of control, especially if we have worked hard, used all our resources through the week and are left feeling lost and deflated.

Let's work together to reset ourselves and recover through gentle breathing to lower our cortisol levels and nurturing ourselves through consistent reminding that we are there for ourselves before absolutely anything or anyone else. Pause before you get out of bed. Set your intentions for the day. Start the day with gentle exercise to raise your dopamina and serotonin levels, running up stairs, up the road, swimming....

Above all today, acknowledge the tremendous work you are doing and above all be there for yourself.

At the end of today pour your energy into your sleep routine so that your sleep is deep and peaceful and you give back to yourself, always.

Focus

Sometimes, we feel scattered and overwhelmed by the amount and different things we have on our plate. It can be enough to cause paralysis and not get started.

When this happens. Pause. Put a gap between you and the 'stuff.' Get outside, take a walk, stand still, breath........

Prioritise which task you overridingly need to get done, first. Write down just two or three tasks that are the most important, only.

Face the first task. Set a time. Even if you go over by five/ ten minutes. Start the task and hyper focus. Parking any other thoughts. Pushing away any distractions. Keep coming back on track until the task is comoleted.

Take a five minute, only, break, and get started on the second task. You will soon get into a rhythm.

Don't forget to breath and be kind to yourself while you are working.

Monday mornings

Procrastination or motivation? Sometimes after a break at the weekend we are ready to go, whilst other times we still feel tired and unable to get motivated.

Number One rule - be kind to yourself. Set small and realistic tasks that do not feel overwhelming so you gain the satisfaction of completion. This will help you to start another small, realistic task.

Start as you mean to go on. Regulation. Set alarms. Take rest breaks for your brain. Don't over expect. There is a whole week ahead - and we want to sustain our mental health and energy levels with exercise, breathing and rest - and not arrive at Friday depleted and exhausted.

Consistency

Today's blog is short, sweet and to the point.

Find what motivates, resets, rests and restores you, everyday.

Whether that is a morning routine, a meditation reset or a calming bath at bedtime.

Keep it CONSISTENT

Every day.

The brain learns to expect and these beautiful habits become your new 'normal.'

Gentleness

Start the day as you mean to go on with GENTLENESS towards yourself. So many of our problems come from our battles with ourselves and negative self-talk.

Let's set new neuro pathways that repeatedly send signals of GENTLENESS, lowering our cortisol levels and soothing our nervous system.

Life is so much smoother with GENTLENESS and you will exude this into your wider life and relationships.

Pace

Go at the pace that feels right for you.

Not the pace you feel you ought or should go at.
m That usually leads to crashing physically or emotionally or both.

Listen to yourself.

You know what you need - to feel regulated and in control.

Feeling stuck?

Sometimes, we just can't see the wood for the trees....sometimes, we feel stuck. Often it is because we are looking so far ahead and trying to work it ALL out and that is overwhelming, to say the least. Whilst it is good to have a big picture vision so we can work step by step, on the one hand.....when we are trying to work out a complex situation at work, home.....sometimes it is only step by step that we can process and come to the answer that is right for us....remember step by step in the right direction is often all we know and one percent each day all adds up!

With love, always
